Bodhgaya is the spiritual home of the Buddhists, where Lord Buddha attained Enlightenment. It is the spiritual home of the buddhists and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. Situated near the Niranjana river Bodhgaya, is the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage centres. The other three important places are his place of birth at Lumbini, the site of his first lecture at Sarnath, and the place where he left his body at Kushinagar. This place is often visited by Dalai Lama.It is a place which shouls and must be visited by a person of devotion.

Must See and Do
Temple visit : Make a visit to the famous Mahabodhi Temple, to explore the spiritual life and practices followed by the people at this place. It is one of the holiest pilgrimage centers of Buddhist from all over the world. The site of the Mahabodhi Temple reflects the records for the events associated with the life of Buddha. Festivals : Buddha Jayanti is the major festival celebrated on a full moon day in April/May as Buddha's birth anniversary as well as enlightenment. People celebrated this festival with great interest and enthuiasm every year.Another festival Nyingma Monlam Chenmo is held in January-February for about three weeks, this festival is celebrated for world peace often attended by the Dalai Lama as well.
