Fairy Queen
Winner of the National Tourism Award for being most innovative and unique tourism project, Fairy Queen is a train making one creep elegantly hundreds years back. Taking a fun-ride on the train, run by the world’s oldest steam engine, is no less than experiencing a unique dejavu.

Dating back to 1855, when the train took its first journey for Eastern Indian Railway, Fairy Queen has become today an innate symbol of rich heritage of the country. Remained closed since 1908, the heritage train chugged again in the year 1997, and since it runs twice in a month. The train, with all its past glory, running between Delhi and Alwar (Rajasthan) is full of cultural wonder.

Proud to possess a special seat in the history of Indian Railways, Fairy Queen train assures one an unforgettable journey. Taking its travellers on a lovely journey viewing the rich cultural ambiance of the places from where it passes through, the train, indeed, presents a beautiful cultural panorama. The 5 star services provided on the train are another joy to cherish the rich hospitality of Rajasthan.

The 1 night / 2 days journey between Delhi and Alwar begins every second and fourth Saturday of the month between October and February. After arriving at Alwar, tourists are taken to Sariska Palace, one of the best heritage hotels of the country. The overnight stay is followed by morning game viewing in the world famous tiger reserve of Sariska. In the noon, tourists are taken back to Alwar where Fairy Queen awaits for them to enjoy again the fancy ride, and get back to Delhi.
